take a bet?

dad's legs have swollen to a point where it hurts him badly at the slightest movement. the doctor also informed us that his blood vessels in his legs are also blocked. in fact the swell is so bad that the fluid would flow out of his wounds (that result from his scratches) and wet his pants.

when we asked the doctor how this can be tackled, we were asked if we want to take a bet. let him be or give him heparin to let the blood flow and drain the fluid. the former would mean letting him continue to suffer the pain but might allow him to survive for some time more. the latter would mean immediate death if he does not take to it well and complication arise due to the medication or the draining. we asked him. despite his weakness and inability to speak properly now, he is still lucid. he decided against the draining. he has chosen to suffer the pain.

  1. Wonder why would one choose to suffer? I guess there is always reasoning to any decision made.
For both choices, it will still be hard on the children. You will still have to brave through these period. Please take good care!
