2230hrs

it was 10:30pm when i received a call from cgh. "is that mr sim? your dad's blood pressure is dropping very fast. it is now 60/30." i immediately called my siblings and told my mum. rushed down to cgh. when i arrived, he did not look much different from when i last saw him in the afternoon. but he was weak. the only tell-tale sign that he was unwell was that he had his iv inserted and there were signs of fresh blood on his bed sheets and the floor. the nurse was taking his bp again. this time, the reading dropped to 50/30. the nurse told me it was not good. by this time, my siblings had arrived. my dad, despite the drop in the bp, kept complaining that he was uncomfortable and that he wanted to sit up. he said that he was afraid to sleep.

the nurse started to give him human plasma serum thru the iv in an attempt to bring up the bp. by 1:30am, he seemed to have responded well to the serum infusion and the constant massage that my brother and eldest sis gave. it was then that we decided to scale down our presence and for some of us to rest.
