my chief had previously given me total free play to work from home. and even if i were to go to office, i could go in anytime i want. for example, i could go for a morning run and walk in late. to her, she trusted me totally and she acknowledged that for developers, our thinking and developing can occur anywhere, not necessarily in the office. in addition, she understood the challenges i faced when looking after my mum and thus, the flexibility to work from home would help me manage my stress.
thing is - i have never used this privilege. it seemed unnatural to me. and i feel somewhat uneasy if i were to do it. but i think i will try this out for once tomorrow. after all, more than half the department had taken leave and it would be so totally boring to be at work when there is no one around...
but still, i feel rather uneasy...
