i have over the past few months, planned for some new people initiatives and have made all the necessary plans to create capacities for my team after jul 14. the work year looked so busy and exciting just a few months ago. these plans, if initiated, would have made my team and i superbly busy now.
but since the change in the top man, many good people had been asked to leave, including my chief, leaving many wondering why the lousy ones were allowed to remain. and with the general gloom and doom mood in office currently, everyone seemed so afraid to open their mouth and/ or to do anything that is seen as against the boss.
and as for me, i have decided to delay all my plans. there is really no point to start anything people-related now, considering how the new boss sees my set-up to be very transactional. and so, these days (especially these 2 weeks), i find myself with a lot of time. i head to office wondering what i was supposed to do many a times. i feel so unmotivated. to make things worst, my colleague shared with me in confidence that the boss is slashing head counts simply by looking at their salaries, without looking at their contributions and value.
this, to me as a hr person, is a hr-disaster. i now see the need to leave my set-up soon too. i frankly do not see anymore future in this company. and i just won't be surprise if i get asked to go too.
