"uncle, have you ever considered working overseas? or even migrating overseas? it's so nice and cool right? i mean, singapore really sucks, and it's so restrictive here, why would anyone want to work or live here?" my niece mused...
well, these were questions from a very young adult... of cos there was nothing wrong with being idealistic. it was perhaps natural to be so at that young tender age (of the early 20s). but from where i am now, i think it also needs a dose of exposure and perspective to be more balanced. or perhaps, simply a more critical treatment to the thought before she says "singapore really sucks". i seriously think there is no perfect country. and wherever we choose to reside, we must make peace with what the country as to offer. otherwise, every place would be as "suckful" as singapore.

and after having seen and experienced so many countries, i can only say this - as one grows with age, one tend to gravitate towards a system that gives him/ her the most assurance and peace of mind (when it comes to supporting him/ her, materially, spiritually, emotionally, psychologically, etc). no?
darned! i am getting old!
lol!
