recently, i downloaded the jack'd app again. i supposed i was bored and my curiosity as to who are the gay men around me got the better of me... so. anyway, as my downloading was not for purposes of picking people up, and certainly not hoping to be picked up, i left my profile anonymous and indicated my age as 99years old. but an interesting thing happened today...
i was at the shopping centre this afternoon when i got a message from someone in his 20s.
he: hi there
me: hi
he: intro
me: 47years old
he: ok
me: well, usually this age turns people off
he: ok
he did not respond further. and i simply deleted the conversation after that. haha... i knew for sure that by mentioning my age, the conversation would end straightaway. the environment in such apps is a very real and very practical one. you see what you want, you go for it. you sense something not to your taste, you delete. and in such environment, it allows one to control the response just by feeding the right message.
