at long last, after almost 2 months of no rain (which is the longest spell in the country over the last century and a half), the rain finally came! and it rained with a vengeance! such a great relief for many! it's been too long. all the trees, grass, epiphytes etc had been dried up. and with the haze and the smell, it felt like as though the country is on fire! i texted some of my friends and interestingly, one said that there were people at macdonalds running around and feeling excited about the rain; and a few were even snapping away pictures of the rain as it fell!
