crying maid

it was during the workshop and i did not checked my phone until 5.15pm.

i noted a missed call from mum's phone at 4.45pm. i called back and next thing i knew, mum screamed over the phone. how can a maid behave like a boss and refuse to let me go to the temple. your dad ill-treated me and now the maid is doing the same. the maid is evil, she is bad-hearted, how could a person possibly not allow a grandma to go to the temple to pray for her sick grandchildren. i want to see her husband. i want to complain to him. she went on non-stop. i tried so hard but couldn't calm her down. i felt my own temper rising but told myself to control. and since i had completed my facilitation, i rushed home straightaway.

i came home and found mum totally upset. she was close to tears and almost trembling with anger. and from her, i noted that she wanted to visit the temple once she returned from the rehab center but the maid had refused to bring her and refused to let her go. she was apparently worried about my second sis's children who had come down with high fever and wanted to head to the temple to pray for their well-being. she was convinced that they had fallen sick cos she did not chant when she was hospitalized. it took me a long while to calm her down. and when i went to the room, i found the maid crying. she was terribly upset too. and she told me all she did was to tell my mum to wait for my return so that i could bring her out. somehow, i tend to want to believe the maid. after all, she does not have the mental condition as mum has. anyway, i left them to cool down.

it was a really difficult evening. mum was extremely difficult. she agreed to eat after a long session of cajoling. but after i completed cooking, she didn't want to eat. and she started to call the maid all kinds of names. and then after another long session of getting her to agree to eat, she refused to eat at the same table as the maid… the evening ended with mum refusing to sleep in the room together with the maid and instead slept in the living room on the sofa.

it was a huge mess. not just in my household, but with my siblings too. and not a single one can appreciate the fact that mum is not normal. that all these happened becos of her anxiety. and with such a huge and intense reaction, i decided to restart her on the trifluoperazine again.

haiz...
