over-confident?

expecting a super a hectic fortnight ahead. even my chief asked me if i am over-stretching myself. so many things to conduct and so many materials to prepare and develop. two major events stood up. firstly, the training in china this coming week and secondly, the workshop in the following week.

for the training in china, it will be done on thursday. although the topics have been developed, i have not done done the final step of reviewing the materials and contextualizing it to the chinese audience. to do so, i need to use local examples and case studies for the program. also, i need to research about the local culture and the people from there. i need to do this to allow me to better connect with the participants and to make the training more meaningful for everyone. as for the workshop, it will involve about 80 pax and they come from all over asia pacific. again, i have not developed the materials other than coming out with the broad program topics.

so, here i am. merely a couple of days from the event and not totally prepared. admittedly, i have given myself some time to prepare but the progress has been totally slow. apart from doing a lot of thinking and framing, i have not really gone into the handwork of developing and assembling my materials. and i ask myself why am i not panicking yet? i do wonder why this lackadaisical attitude? why am i procrastinating? am i being over-confident?

i donno. it is true that i have never failed to rise to any occasions when it comes to training. that every time i am faced with such challenges, i will always deliver and deliver very well. and somehow, my materials will be ready when the time comes.

but this time round, i am even surprised with myself…

let's see how…
