have not done any intensive job search this week. instead, have focused a lot on researching and meeting up with people to talk about the jobs i have been interviewed for recently. also, have focused quite a bit on preparing for the interviews that i had attended.
apparently, interview preparation was much more difficult that i had expected. it required me to not only look at the position, but to also look at the company, the corporate structure, the culture, the vision, the mission la la la... and to join the dots based on whatever sketchy information i can find about the company to better understand it. info about those areas where i cannot find, i list them down as questions. then, i have to also anticipate the questions that i could be asked and think through how i could pitch myself such that i could come across as being relevant. but the hardest part is this. i had to think through how i could possibly contribute to the company based on the position that i would be interviewed for. and once all these are done, i think through how i could start the conversation, how to pitch myself and how i could drive the interview. contingency plans... contingency plans...
and after doing all these, i get myself a good nights' sleep and let my mind blank off. with all these things to think about, it's no wonder i find it so difficult to go for those open-ended chit chat sessions where there are no clear specific positions.
interview preparations is such a tiring process...
:-)
