today, we went kite-flying with ming. it was our first attempt. and well, as expected of all gay men, we went complete with a psychedelic electric blue coloured ground sheet (actually it was my shower curtain, hahahaha!), wine, rose tea, apple juice, potato chips, pork ribs, cakes, la la la... and of cos, not to mention, a kite with a rainbow coloured tail and another in the shape of a bumble bee. and we found a perfect place to fly our kites and drink our wine! it was by the side of a main road next to the kallang canal. and ooooohhh... it was such a sight! of cos of cos, we were the object of the site and yes, there was also a canoeist in the canal. heh heh heh...
ok, let's be serious. kite-flying was really fun. we had two kites and bee and ming flew one each. as for me, i did not actually fly the kite per se. i act-act only. pretend to fly but actually more like they bring it up there, i held on to the string. heh heh... the rainbow kite flew real well but the bumble bee one kept nose-diving. it only started flying when i tied a cold storage plastic bag at the base to give it some balance. so unglam right!? gaymen flying a kite with a cold storage bag... doh! anyway, i was the one running around like a busy housewife, oh, i mean, housefly snapping away pictures of them. and of cos, i was also busy chasing away ants and other creepy crawlies that had made themselves comfortable on my ground sheet! it was a good 2 hour. and oooh, although kite flying looked pretty simple, trust me, it was not. we actually perspired! then again, it might have been the sun...
