volunteering

two days ago, i wrote a mail to the temple asking for advice as to how i can become a volunteer teacher. yesterday, the temple got back to me with an application form and told me that that they will also arrange for an interview for me with the venerable this coming monday. when i heard that, i went into my oh-no-i-am-not-ready-and-would-sure-fail mode. haha... i think i have been in my job search mentality for too long.

well, today, i found out that the venerable interviewing me will be the one that taught me meditation. my impression is that she is rather strict and not too friendly. but knowing that it will be her interviewing me is a good start. then again, i asked myself why should i be nervous about the interview. if they find me not suitable, the most i don't give my service right? no loss at all. i am only volunteering. and with this thought, i became relaxed. i think i will tell them upfront that my knowledge is not necessarily tip top, but i am willing to offer my service in any capacity they deemed me appropriate for.

the rest is for them to decide...

:-)
