isn't love selfish?

how many of us ever enter a relationship for the other party? how many of us can say that we do things for our partners without the element of a self?

i do this for him. i do this for her. i do this for us... underlying all these, isn't there a big invisible - i am doing all these for myself, for my own ego, for my own satisfaction, for my own benefits, for my own happiness... even the simple act of buying flowers. i buy flower for my partner becos it makes him happy. and when he is happy, i am happy. hmmm... no?
