hfmd?

today when i called mum in the morning, she complained that her whole body ached. i told her it could be because she over-exerted herself yesterday from too much exercise. when i visited her, i noted that her whole tongue was red and full of ulcers. also, her lips were swollen, red and badly cracked. she said it was very painful. i immediately poured her some ice cold water and asked her to sip a mouthful and hold it in her mouth for some seconds before spitting it out. thankfully, it numbed her tongue and she felt a lot more better after that... the symptoms i saw was very much like those of hand foot mouth disease. but hmmm, if indeed it was hfmd, i wondered how did she got it. anyway, told my brother about it and asked that they do the necessary precautions to ensure the disease does not spread to my pregnant sister-in-law.

and i am still hoping it is not hfmd. and come to think of it, i also have mouth ulcers over the last week. but i did not show the very bad symptoms that mum showed. and today, my throat had started to feel sore. did i spread the virus to mum? hmmm... so many unknowns...
