did my x-ray and saw the urologist this afternoon. and from the the x-ray, it suggests presence of stones in both kidneys! i find this quite disturbing. but the consolation this time round was that the stones are a little smaller than the last occurrence. about 4.5mm compared to 5.5mm previously.
the urologist mentioned that for stones this size, they will naturally be discharged by the body in about 50-60% of cases. and for those that remained in the kidneys, further procedures including invasive ones such as an operation might have to be used to remove them.
so in my situation, the urologist advised me to adopt a wait and see approach. and in the meantime, drink lots of water and to try to get the stones to leave the body naturally. he has scheduled me for a ct scan in about 3 weeks time and if by then, the stones are still there, then we will need to talk further.
tsk tsk tsk...
