i have been getting quite a bit of calls and smses from numbers that i do not recognize, both on my regular phone as well as on my call card phone. and frankly, i'd simply ignore them. many, if not all, of these are either telemarketers, scams and/ or cheats.
there was once in an afternoon some days back when i got a call from this number +1 (653)-157-7473. and i happened to be online and did a quick google on the number. and i realized that many people had had calls from this number too. and from the postings, it suggests that someone could be using this number to steal information from other people's phones and that the caller would either claim he was from some banks (eg bank of china) doing some telemarketing or he would simply keep quiet.
similarly, i would usually get smses from local numbers offering to provide loans and/ or access to quick money at low or no interest rates. or if they were indonesian numbers, the smses would be telling me i had won some lucky draws and that i should call them up immediately to claim some huge amount of monies. bloody hell, if life was so easy, there would be no poor people around.
these calls/ sms feeds on the individuals greed and desires. previously, i would answer the calls and nicely tell them i was not interested but these days, i would simply ignore and delete.
