ops grasshopper

was having my day out with bee and was at the shopping mall. this mall in the eastern part of the island had positioned itself as a green mall and had lots of plants as part of its architectural designs. and interestingly, there are also plants planted in its toilets that has this ventilation space that opens up to the roof too. what happened was that halfway walking about, i needed to pee and made my way to one of the toilets while bee continued shopping. and after doing what i needed to do, i saw a grasshopper hopping about at the wash basin.

hmmm, it must be quite a journey for it to find its way into to toilet, i thought as i walked out of the toilet. and as i did so, i looked around and realized that it would be rather impossible for the grasshopper to get out of the toilet by itself. cos to do so, it has to navigate its way from the sink through a couple of bends before it can reach the plants, and then it had to fly up 3 stories before it can get out of the building. i concluded it must have fallen into the toilet by mistake. if i were to leave it in the toilet, it would die for sure. this cannot do, and i decided to rescue the grasshopper.

it was kinda funny cos i had walked out of the toilet already and to walk in again would look very awkward. i had to ensure the people around did not misperceive me as a toilet stalker and following people in and out toilets, waiting to prey on them. and so, i took a few steps, pretend pretend to check my phone, send some sms etc before heading into the toilet again. there was a guy peeing and sensing he wasn't looking at me, i quickly tried my attempts at catching the grasshopper. heh heh... not easy cos it hopped up and down and all over the basin area. up to the mirror, down to the basin, up to the side wall, and then to the mirror again... before i finally caught it (gently).

bee was waiting for me outside the shop when i walked out of the toilet with the grasshopper in my hand. explained to him my intentions and we left to look for the exit hurriedly. the grasshopper was really frighten, judging from the way it panted (i could feel the abdomen moving as i made my way out). but all went well when i finally placed it on the bushes outside the mall. it perched itself on one of the leaf. and when bee tried to touch it, it hopped off!

all's well that ends well!
