serendipity

remember the vietnamese boy that i spoke of? the one that worked at the shopping center restaurant? i have not blog about him since the time when he said he would be leaving. and the last time i spoke with him (in dec), he affirmed that he would be leaving 6 jan. and i said i would meet him again to wish him goodbye. but the days passed and i did not get to meet him due to mum's mental deterioration. and on the 6 jan, i was out for something that i couldn't really recall. and so, i took it that he had left and gone back to vietnam and that was it. 

i went out with an ex-colleague for lunch today at tanjong katong. and it was a great lunch. gorged myself of bak kut teh, stewed pig's trotters, large intestines, tang-o, you char kueh, complete with a bowl of rice... yumz. and after that, had a cup of chendol ice cream! double yumz... ok, where was i... oh ok, after lunch, as we were about to cross the road, i saw a couple trying to cross the road too. hmm... the guy looked familiar. and he gave me that familiar look too. and wham! it was that vietnamese boy! haha. totally didn't expect it and initially thought it couldn't be. but indeed it was him. i couldn't really recognise him cos he was always with his chef's head dress whenever we meet (at the shopping center). we spoke briefly, and came to understand that when he said leaving on 6 jan, he had meant leaving the restaurant and not singapore. heh! anyway, found out his departure to vietnam would be next week! managed to exchange numbers and we would likely meet up before he leaves...
