broken recorder

well, if you have noticed, i have not really blogged about mum these days... in fact, i deliberately, consciously, try not to blog about her. and i did so becos i realized i will sound like a broken recorder. just keep repeating and repeating. i reckoned that even if my readers do not get tired reading them, i myself will get tired repeating myself.

haha... so yes, i just take it that unless otherwise stated, everything about her has been rather consistent, in terms of the suspicions, the tantrums, the emotional abuse, some rather disturbing allegations (which i shall not blog about, that even my sister felt terribly disturbed), la la la... and of course, there is one little update here. i went to the mental institute and asked the doctor what is her condition called specifically. i wanted some clearer indication from him. i have read about parkinsons, alzheimers, dementia, and so on and all her symptoms seemed to be mentioned in all these different conditions. and the doctor put it very simply to me. you mum has early stage dementia. ok, at least that is clear enough to me... and he also asked me to "play around" with the medication (i.e, adjust the dosage) depending on her condition. in addition, the doctor also mentioned that he would be referring her to the geriatric clinic too.

well... that's the update for now.

:-)

Hi Peace,

My thoughts and best wishes continue for you and your mum.

Thanks Edwin. I really lost it today... Not internalizing is really easier said than done...

Sighs.

Hi Peace,

Of course, words are usually easier then deeds ;-)

We all have our journey to make and it is good to have company along the way. It doesn't necessarily make the burdens we carry lighter, but we do get to share words of encouragement, a hug in recognition of our shared humanity.

I hope you will not make your burden heavier than it needs to be. Cut yourself some slack and recognize that we do the best we can given the circumstances: usually far from perfect. But, circumstances rarely are ;-)

*hugs*
