running achievement!

well, frankly when i wrote about the need to lead a healthy lifestyle at the start of the year, i did not dare to impose on myself a target. after all, targets once set will create a certain level of stress on me and i think it is something i can really do without now - considering all the other stressors that i am currently facing. anyway, i have kept on my running momentum since i started running mid-dec. and quietly, although i did not impose any explicit target, i told myself i should try to minimally do a 10km run one day. before the year closes, that is. and guess what?!?! i did it yesterday! heh heh... i took things slow and steady by running no more than 2km. and over time (every alternate days), i increased it to 2.2, 2.6, 2.7, 3, 5, 8 etc... and finally 10km. and of course i did it slow and steady. 7:09min/ km kinda pace...

so! it felt so good to have done it. the last time i did such a distance non-stop was probably more than 10 years ago! heh... well, i am not about to overkill myself with runs now. i think it is time to slow things down. back to the 2-5km kinda distance every alternate days for the next couple of weeks before i start to pick it up again. hurray for me, for now!

ps: now, my legs aches like crazy, but somehow, the aches felt really good!
