ah pek

within these couple of days, i will be an "ah pek" (阿伯). well that is what a chinese person would address an uncle who is elder than his/ her father. and in my case, since i am the eldest son in the family, i would be rightfully addressed as "tua pek" (大伯) (or eldest paternal uncle) by my brother's baby.

so imagine, in the far future when my brother's baby has her own children, they will call me "tua pek kong" (大伯公)... lol!

* while "tua pek kong" is also a respectful term for the grand eldest paternal uncle, it is also the name of one of the most respected chinese diety that is commonly worship by malaysian and singaporean chinese.
