promotion

when i was told that i would be promoted to a senior position, my first response was "what? so fast? no, no, i am not sure if i am ready for it." and he went on to say that i should not worry about it and he would adjust my renumeration accordingly. and my next response was "erm, no, that was not my worry, in fact, i am more worried about whether i could do the job well considering the heavy responsibilities." my big boss told me that this was not just his decision and that his two bigger bosses also agreed to his proposal. he added that they have been more than pleased with my performance in these last 3 months and that they have full confidence in me. when i told a friend about my response, she laughed about it and said i should have said i appreciate it and just take it. it's been only 3 short months and i am placed in a senior management position. i must say i am really appreciative of their trust in me. i can only put in my best to make sure things turn out right!
