this is purely thinking aloud and not meant to show any disrespect to islam.
my take is this - if we were to rationalise along the different levels as described in my previous post, my own personal take is yes if one focus purely on the physical abstenance of the meat itself. for eating vegetarian pork is nothing but eating tofu/ vegetable derivatives with seasonings that does not involve the use of any pig-derived product. but if we look at the psychological aspects of things, then the answer would be an outright no.

The idea of vegetarian pork is absurd.
ha ha... i thought so too. but it really exist. even in singapore. and i know it (and to a large part, it gave me the inspiration to write this blog) cos i actually had a little dinner gathering with some friends at this chinese vegetarian restaurant at coronation plaza that specialises in vegetarian pork! :-)
