house reno

every year, when it comes to the chinese new year period, i would regret not polishing my granite floor. it's been 12 years since i first moved in and i have not polished my floor at all! also, i would often feel shy to invite my friends over to my place cos my furniture is not too presentable (to me at least, altho bee bee says it's ok) - my sofa is dirty, old and torn, my dining table is actually the study table purchased for james (my ex) some 5 years back, the dining chairs are made of pine wood and all bear sapphie's teeth marks - marks made when she was still weaning her milk teeth some 9 years back...

so, after months of looking around, i finally placed a booking for some new furniture in two months ago (i bought a very nice 3 seater sofa and a set of marble dining table and chairs). these will arrive on 13 dec - less than a week's time.

and in this short time, the contractor will also polish the granite flooring, varnish the parquet in the house and to give the house a new coat of paint! it will cost me a total of 3k to do all these stuff! but considering the 12 years of wear and tear, 3k is rather worth it! this coming week will be a rather interesting but hectic one. contractors, clearing of old furniture, packing and unpacking, cleaning, and so on! but i look forward to it!
