finally completed my car servicing. and as usual, the service attendant would exclaimed that my mileage is "wah! so high"... and of cos, i will routinely go "oh, i live in changi and work in tuas". sighs... sometimes, i find that i can repeat some things over and over again to different people. life can sometime be so bloody routine isn't it?
with the servicing finally done, i am ready to do my long drive to cameron highlands with my bee and schneider next week! oh, i think i better check with schneider on the hotel booking... he called and told me the hotels have all been fully booked!

found your hotel yet? are there so many people traveling now?
yup :-)
found found! whew! was actually kinda surprise at the high occupancy rate.
when is the trip? wish i was in your part of the world. where is this place you heading?
will leave on christmas day itself. about an 8hr drive up north to malaysia. longest drive i've ever done in this region :-)
the place is called cameron highlands and it's a good place to relax and just blank off! nice and cool. lots of forest, tea plantations, strawberry farms, etc. ok, ok... will post a photo of the place in this blog!
cheers! that will be nice of you. going alone or with friends?
that is simply fabulous! you made me wish i can go there one day. how long will you spend your holiday there? is it expensive? do give recommendations of places to go and which hotel to book. i want my break too!
just a short trip. will be there for two days and then spent another 2 days in kuala lumpur (malaysia's capital city) before heading back home.
yup, looking forward to it! heard so much about it but this is also my first trip up there altho i've been to malaysia countless times. cost-wise, i find it very affordable, usually the case with places and food in malaysia.
:-)
i have not been traveling to asia. looks like you are going to this fantastic place with your love. would you reckon malaysia a better place to visit than thailand or singapore?
hey you are speaking to a singaporean! heh heh... ok, without sounding too bias, here's my take:
- come to singapore and you can have a bit of everything in asia yet not get too culture shocked. all singaporeans speak english and you should be able to find your way around without any problems. good if you have limited time. but singapore can be a little expensive compared to malaysia or thailand. given it superb infrastructure and well connect air-hub, many have come to singapore and from here, branch out to malaysia and thailand.
- go to malaysia and you will be able to enjoy their beautiful sceneries and malay culture. like singapore, it is a multi-cultural country and most speak good english. but given that it is a muslim country, it is generally more conservative compared to singapore and thailand. more affordable than singapore definitely. and given the size of the country, you may have to do a bit of traveling if you want to experience different things.
thailand - land of smiles. very friendly country. very different from both singapore and malaysia. has a culture and language of it's own. many do not speak good english so language may be an issue if you go to suburban areas. nonetheless, you should be able to get your way around easily enough in the cities. of the 3, thailand is the most accepting of glbts. the recent political turbulence has made many considered twice about visiting thailand, at least for the immediate future.
hope this is a sufficiently objective take on the 3 countries. so, it really depends on what you want - culture, sceneries, people, a bit of everything, etc...
:-)
