special christmas

am not christian and do not celebrate christmas per se. but since singapore is a multi-racial, multi-religion country, the christmas break is enjoyed by all regardless of race and religion. and the following are some of the reasons why this year's christmas is different, and in a big way, special to me:

• i received a card from hwee2. she's a uni classmate of mine. married to a french and migrated to france many years back. and i've just received a christmas card from her. enclosed in the card was a compilation of french songs. very nice.

• also, i received another christmas card from karsten from jb. somhow, the feeling i get when i receive cards are so different from say emails or e-cards... not so sure how to describe it. but i just feel so warm.

• for the first time, schneider, bee, my uni friends and i decided to dress up and go for a good expensive christmas dinner. altho it cost me over a thousand dollars, we certainly had a lot of fun dressing up, eating dinner at jaan on top of the raffles swissotel hotel and then exchanging presents at the hotel lounge!

• i will be going away for christmas for my short break.

nice. it's hard not to feel the chrismassy mood when there are so many things happening. especially things that makes you feel warm.
