hurray! my house renovation has started!
it has been less than 2 hours and the parquet flooring looks brand new! well... actually, what the guy has done was to do the treatment - and the so-called treatment was nothing but sheer grinding of the flooring to remove the old varnish and grind off the surface layer of the parquet tiles. what is left is a whole floor of brand new looking parquet! he has yet to do the areas nearer to the skirting and the skirting itself, but already the floor looks good!
looking forward to the finished product :-)
oh... the contractor manager came this morning and asked if i had applied for a renovation permit. well, i had not. and so i made my way to the condo office and was told that i needed 7-days for the permit to be approved. heh heh... told the manager i had started work on my room flooring. he has no choice but to inform me (rather unhappily) that he will try to get the permit approved in 3days and that should at least cover the grinding of my living room floor... and he went on about the need to follow condo laws and so on and so forth... anyway, i couldn't be bothered abt him... he's always been an attitude problem chap.
