when i was at the a&e observation ward earlier, i observed this very interesting (and somewhat funny) incident. one staff nurse asked another: "how?! how?! how?! i got a patient who's been warded. but the patient has bedbugs and the ward has refused to accept... how?! how?!"
heh heh... i supposed such occurrences in singapore hospitals are few and rare and when it happens, it can be rather difficult. well, after calling a few numbers, she managed to sent the patient to the isolation ward.

Actually, it happens more than you would think in hospitals! Checkout Bad Bed Bugs to see just how bad infestations really are. Buses, planes, hotels, etc - it's bigger than people imagine!
