singapore is a boring city, mundane, clinical, it's a fine city, etc. not uncommon for people to use such adjectives to describe the island city. well, perhaps it is, especially to many of us who live in here. shopping, cinema, shopping, cinema... the things to do here seemed rather limited. well, at least for us locals.
and so, when i heard the news about a man being mauled to death by 3 white tigers in the singapore zoo, i was like - wtf! oh wow! drama man!... and i turned up the radio volume and paid attention to the news. it kinda broke the monotony of daily mundane stuff... and provided some excitement amidst the gloomy weather and even gloomier financial status today. but most importantly, i was worried for the white tigers. what's gonna happen to them? will the zoo kill them? how did the attack happen? how could such a thing happen?... so many questions but not a single answer.
followed the news through the whole evening and by 10pm, the zoo finally released a statement indicating that the tigers will not be put to sleep. whew... and from what i heard, i gathered that it was either a case of suicide or mischief/ prank gone wrong... sad.
then again, i am glad the white tigers will not be put to sleep.
