it felt almost like a miracle when i received the sms from the domestic helper this morning telling me that mum's tube had been removed and that she would be discharged this evening. almost couldn't believed it cos just last evening, she was still incoherent and confused. anyway, when i picked her up in the evening, she looked well and did not appear confused at all. apart from her weakness, she was generally ok and she could talk to me.
for now, her medications had been changed and she had been told to stay on strict porridge diet.

Hurray :)
U know, my job is to test hypothesis; so in yr shoes, i would stick the tube in again to see if she remains coherent. CAUSE >EFFECT.
Just joking. (I AM getting macabre). Do wish her well & you take care too.
Glad to hear that your mom is ok now. You have to get used to the changes that is going to happen over time. The 2nd childhood is coming.
thanks anonymous.
hey aziz, thanks. caring for the elderly can be a rather challenging thing. the experience with my mum is totally different from that of my dad and yes, i see it coming too.
j, i suspected it was the tube too. but well, watever the reason was, i am just glad the coherence is back. :)
