sway chee

got this sms from my second sis earlier after she visited mum at the hospital: mum looks good. but she is still very convinced that you are still regularly meeting up with that "sway chee" (a hokkien term that is short for "sway chee bye" or literally means "unlucky cunt").

well, to put in perspective, mum has paranoia and constantly believes that i am in cahoots with my eldest aunt (whom i have no inkling who she is) to harm her. this is a result of her mental health where she confuses her age old memories with what she sees today. apparently, my mum and my eldest aunt were not on good terms during the early years of her marriage to my dad and had caused quite a bit of harm to her relationship with my dad. and till today, she still feels this strong animosity towards my eldest aunt. most interestingly, non of us know who is my eldest aunt cos she divorced my uncle before any of us were born… so…

haha… ok, so back to the sms. my sis always tells me this whenever mum relate this to her. and always she would try to convince mum that my eldest aunt is dead. but mum is adamant that she is not and that i have been going out with her (mum always imagine my lady friends to be my eldest aunt regardless of which lady friend i go out with).

while i would get rather flustered whenever i received such news, i decided it is useless to do so today. i simply thank her. and i told her that perhaps she should just reframe the word "sway chee" to any "chee" (cunt) that can "sway" me. and that includes any female including my dog, sapphie. since you cannot talk logic with a mental patient, the next best thing would be to reframe the logic and laugh over it. no? it's a new year and i shan't allow myself to get moody by such things!

lol!
