i received an sms with this picture from a friend last evening. this friend, who hailed from johor baru, had been residing in singapore for the last 30-over years.
frankly, i made no head or tail out of this sms. my immediate reaction was - ahhh, a screenshot from the movie about the boy who could see dead people... then i read the words on the picture...
man: this sunday, come to kl to play.
boy: i live in jb...
i did not notice the smaller words at the bottom and for whatever reasons, i thought my friend had decided to move to kl and wanted to have a house warming of sorts and had send out a creatively designed invite to me. whatever the case, i didn't know how to respond and simply decided to type a "huh?" before sending it. it was after his explanation before i got the joke…
i supposed such jokes would be better understood by malaysians! it was even funnier cos when i forwarded this picture to some of my friends, a girl-friend replied… wahhh… so pedophilic…
ps: for the record, the joke behind this picture was that since jan 2104, johor baru had adjusted their weekends from sat-sun to fri-sat...
