when malaysia says "mas selamat was arrested under the internal security act (isa) as he is deemed a threat to the country... mas selamat’s isa detention would ensure that his activities and contacts with other militant groups in asia could be contained." what they meant was "singapore cannot ensure the containment of msk and his militant group." period.
ha ha... simple politics language. what's unsaid is louder than what's said. and it was so obvious. first they say, oh ok, we'll hand over msk to you, then their prime minister comes over, reiterate that they'll hand over once their investigation is over. and then the next thing you know, they say they'll keep him for 2 years... and all singapore could do was - suck thumb, sit and say - "we understand." heh heh... i mean, what else can singapore say rite?
:-)
