went back to the boarding house again to leave instructions for sapphie to be allowed to be taken out for walks by james (my ex), steven (a good friend of ours) and my sis. they have all agreed to take her out for walks whenever they can. when i reach there, sapphie jumped and jumped and whimpered none stop. it was as though i had left her for a long long time. hmmm, perhaps. to a dog, it's 7 times human time. spent some time with her and managed to quieten her down a little.
when i left, again she barked non-stop. and it was a bark that i have not heard before in my life. her barks have always sounded... erm, very sapphie, very domesticated. but today, she sounded different. she sounded wild. she sounded afraid. i cannot find correct words to describe it. it was just... different. she continued barking even after i was out of sight. and i could still hear her when i walk out to the administration block.
i left with a heavy heart.
and i think i know better now how parents felt when they sent their sons off for their national service. perhaps... perhaps...

she will be fine... worry not... :)
am sure she'll be ok... just that it's something you won't want to put her through if you have a choice after having had her by your side day and night for the last 9 1/2 yrs.
Yes, it can be heartwrenching. She just doesn't understand why "u are abandoning her & going to enjoy yourself in Australia" Guilty? ;)
Seriously, once she gets used to the place, it will be OK.
Everytime i go on a trip (particularly the long ones to SG/ASia), i worry abt how my roger rabbit is coping. On some occasions, he'll give me a look upon my return that speaks volumes:
"Excuse me, do i know u from somewhere?"
On others, he'll come straight for me - and start raping my foot or hand (the usual bunny thing).
Boys will be boys.
cheerio ;)
heh heh... yup. you understood my feelings... anyway, i am back! and i will be picking her up tomorrow! yippee!
