my office knew that i am having some issues managing my dad's illness all along. and when they heard about my mum also being hospitalised, i think they got really concerned. so, yesterday, i got a surprise sms from my dy boss telling me to approach them if i need help. same sentiment was echoed by one or two other colleagues. and today, my boss's secretary called and told me that my boss has asked her to sent a hamper to my mum and dad.
rather surprised by this sudden responses. but nonetheless, appreciate their concerns. it is perhaps simple acts like keeps a person going. not the hamper per se. but the moral support. the thought that if i need help, i have someone whom i can turn to is a very powerful motivator in itself.
and this support, i must add, comes not only from my office, but from my friends. and i sincerely thank them for it. to my friends, (you know who you are), thanks.
