touched

two of my nie coursemates (yazid and raymond) asked me out for dinner yesterday and took me to a thai massage. i did not realise but they had planned for it to be a treat to me for helping them in their module. but what touched my most was the fact that they (and sharifah - another coursemate) bought, signed and presented a thank you and congratulations card to me. apart from congratulating me for graduating, they also thanked me for my sharing during the course and wrote in the card that they had learned a lot from me. they also urged me to go for phd.

frankly, i had known about the dinner and the massage as raymond had mentioned it before. but what i was not prepared for was the card. simple gesture, but it told me i have made an impact on them. so much so that they went about getting it. and for me, one who is not used to receiving appreciations and thanks, i felt somewhat embarrassed. but yes, i am touch by their gesture.
