slipped disc (?)

i hurt my back last afternoon as i was preparing to head out for a job interview. i was brushing my teeth and scraping my tongue when i started coughing and next thing i knew, my back gave way. i couldn't stand up straight. it was so painful i could only manage to walk with my whole body bend. called my sis and she brought me to a chinese sinseh. this sinseh apparently had many years of experience and had been treating my sis and her family for more than 20 years. i did the driving and picked up my sis before we made our way to the sinseh's home.

when we reach the car park, my body had stiffened up and i couldn't move at all. in fact, i even had problem getting out of my car. thankfully, my mum's wheelchair was in the boot and my sis used it to wheel me up. the sinseh took a look at me, applied some medicated oil on my back and gave it a quick massage. i was literally squirming in pain as he did so. after the massage, he asked me to sit upright. i couldn't, the pain was just too bad. he continued with some more massage and the next thing i knew, he held my shoulder and pulled me backwards. i screamed out in pain and using his knees, he pressed against my lower back and gave a jerk. i screamed out again and immediately i felt dizzy. i felt my blood leaving my upper body and everything started to blank off. the dizziness got worst and my body went limp and i almost passed out. frankly, i didn't really know what happened after that. all i could remember was the sinseh giving me a glass of warm water and kept asking me to drink it as he led me to the sofa. when i sat onto the sofa, everything around me started whirling. and couple of seconds later, my body broke into cold sweat.

it was terrible. in what felt like a forever later, he explained to me that my spine has gone out of alignment (back sprain? slipped disc?) and that this has resulted in the muscles spasms (muscle strain). he said that he had managed to push it back in place and asked me to try to sit upright again (which i tried and yes, i could). the dizziness went off after 5min. my sis stood beside me through the whole process and she panicked a little cos she did not expect my face to turn green. after resting a while, we took our leave and my sis drove me home. from then till today, i had been bedridden. the back muscles kept getting into spasms even while i laid on my bed. really dislike this feeling of intense burst of pain. so for the whole of today, i did nothing but just downing pills after pills of muscle relaxant and painkillers. my sis bought me my meals while bee got me coffee and gave me a wipe down.

thankfully by evening, i felt a lot better and i managed to bring sapphie downstairs to pee.

whew!
