in my condominium, there are a lot of pilots and cabin crews. many of them are foreigners. take the resident's profile on my floor for example. there are 4 units. the pilot and i own one unit each. as for the other 2 units, they had been sublet out to a group of filipinos, and a group of thai sia air stewardess respectively. and given the pilot and the air stewardess' frequent traveling, my floor would usually be very peaceful and quiet. but two nights ago, this peace was badly disrupted.
you see, as i was about to doze off, i was awaken by a woman's scream. it was a superbly shrilling and panicky scream, and it pierced through the quiet of the night. i never liked to hear screams and my imagination ran wild. a lot of questions ran through my head... did someone just jumped down? did someone commit a murder? and so on. and as i was still searching for an answer, another scream sounded off. and some few seconds later, a couple of screams rang through continuously. oh no, i thought, will mum's imagine run wild? given her paranoia, will the screams give her ideas of murder and houses being broken into? i felt very unsettled and i didn't like that feeling. instinctively, i got out of bed, opened my window and did a visual check and this was what i saw...
the bedroom window of the air stewardess unit was fully opened. one of the air stewardess was holding a broom and waving it like a mad woman. and another one of the air stewardess was running in and out of the room and looking superbly flustered and worried. after a few short moments, the woman who was waving the broom stopped and she quickly closed the window and shut the curtains. hmmm... if i guessed it correctly, the room must have belonged to the one that looked flustered. and based on my many previous experiences with james (my ex), the reasons behind the screams must be - a flying kar chuak (cockroach).
haiz... really, wtf right? i was sure her screams woke the whole neighborhood up! thankfully, there was no further screams after that. and when i think about it now, i thought it was a little funny.
