omg!

yesterday, after mum came home from her elderly rehab center, she went straight to the sofa to take a rest. and then she took out her handphone and started pressing some buttons. as usual she seemed so engrossed in it, staring at the buttons closely and pressing them very deliberately, one by one. i assumed she was trying to call one of my siblings and left her alone. i didn't want to ask her about it in case she feels i am encroaching into her personal space. it went on for quite a while. probably 5min. hmmm, perhaps she had problems calling out and perhaps she could do with some help... and i asked her who was she trying to call, and whether she needed me to help her call and she replied "i am trying to (switch) on the tv." and with my questioning, she suddenly realized she was pressing her handphone and not the remote control. we have a little chuckle over it.

on the surface, this was actually quite funny. but thinking deeper, it was probably another indication of her gradual lose of her cognitive abilities. to be expected i supposed. need to note this down and to report to the doctor when we visit him in 2 weeks' time. but well, let's just have a laugh over it. it's good to learn to laugh at our acts once a while. and we can do so without guilt if we are laughing at the act and not the person...

right?

:-)
