mum's pain

mum's been complaining of pain in her legs for the last 2 months. it was one of those pain that she experience regularly since her total knee replacement some 10 years ago. she has not and will not fully recover from that op. and now, she will have this lingering muscle spasms that will sent the pain through her whole body every so often. so much so that she cannot walk or move properly.

sent her to the doctor and he told me that in my mum's case, it is one of those times where western medicine will have to concede defeat... and that even if she were to do a re-op, it will not help her much cos her's is a case of bone being totally worn off and her body is shifting her weight to other parts of her body thereby resulting her hip problem, back problem, posture problem etc. well, i really appreciate his being so frank with me. i had expected as much.

nonetheless, for me, sending her to the doctor was in part about giving her the psychological assurance that things are in good hands and that she's been given the medicine that will help her tide over her pain, although it's only temporarily.

i just wish i can do more for her...
