it had been a day that was peppered with little misfortunes... but hey, these experiences made my day really interesting!
misfortune one
had this south asian worker (ok, i assumed he was a bangla worker from the way he carried himself and the way he walked) walked passed us outside cathay cinema, and omg!!! the sweat stench of his shirt was really really unbearable!!! i noticed that everyone whom he walked pass somehow slowed down and let him walk a distance before they walk normally again! wondered if he was aware of how bad he smelled...
misfortune two
a bird (mynah!) shitted (or is it shat? argh, watever, u get the drift) on me today while i was walking along orchard road... u know, it was one of those big angsana trees outside mandarin hotel where our bird friends would roost at night. and just a split second before it happened, i was thinking how unlucky it would be if those people sitting on the benches below the trees were to be hit! and then... splat! *&@$^%!&# and as if it was not bad enough, my bee bee tried to wipe it off and it spreaded over a larger area! just my luck that that particular bird who bombed on me had a really huge meal earlier... anyway, i ended up having a humongous stain on my newly bought nike t-shirt and i had to wash it in the heeren toilet! so unglam standing by the sink topless and washing the bird-shit!
misfortune three
well, ok, was not a misfortune per se. still, it was not a very nice experience to witness this twenty-something year old guy (undergrad i believe) lying prone on a 3-seater sofa at raffles city gloria jean doing his homework. i mean, his occupying the 3-seater was one thing but the fact was that the 3-seater was part of a set of 3+2 arrangement and his lying on the 3-seater meant he has effectively deprived 5 potential customers from using the space. the best part was that he acted blur throughout the period we were there despite the fact that there were a lot of people walking by and giving him dirty stares! disgusting!
