i actually like the show quite a lot. i could identify with many of the getai scenes for they reminded me so much of my teenage years when i grew up in marine terrace...

881 is also one of those show where many people don't know whether to laugh or to cry at some point. well, i do not mean it in a bad sense. the reason why i said that was because there were several sad and sobby scenes, yet, in the way it was delivered, using hokkien songs, it sounded rather funny. perhaps it reflects our discomfort with the public use of the hokkien language.

whatever the case, i had an enjoyable evening.
