dawn of the planet of the apes

brought mum out to watch the dawn of the planet of the apes last evening. and before that treated her to italian pasta. she enjoyed the evening thoroughly.

spoiler alert ahead...

as for the show, i must say the effects were really good and the storyline was... well, let's put it this way, i kept thinking about george orwell's animal farm as i watched the show. well, of cos i was referring to the parallels in both shows where animals became no different from man in the end. i do want to add that i was a tat disappointed with the scene where caesar eventually decided to kill koba. i really hoped for that moment that he wouldn't do it. what difference would he from koba now that he had killed him right? it would be great if the scene were unfold such that koba made an attempt at caesar's life after caesar pulled him up, only to miss a step and fall to his death. no? then again, what was nice about the show was the many tender moments and little nuances that was acted out amongst the apes that reflected how similar they are to human. a very entertaining show indeed.

but yeah, we all enjoyed the show.

:-)
