(1) mindlessness at its peak. was at my starting screen where i have to key in my password to enter the system and without realizing it, i typed "ham..." instead of my password. what the... what was i thinking? i was not even thinking about food! haha!
(2) was reading a book on systems thinking and organisational learning. the book spoke about the concept of "shared vision". and it explained how a shared vision could help organisations drive toward a greatness larger than the sum of all its entities combined. it also spoke about how in the presence of greatness, all pettiness disappears. the book also lamented how many organisations claim to have a shared vision, while in actual fact, it is but the vision of the one/s on top. as i read the chapter, i was reminded of my own organisation. it has a vision, but certainly, my take is that it is not shared by many. mine is an organisation where pettiness prevails. where backstabbing, mistrust and spying on each other is practised, even amongts senior people. wtf right!?
(3) totally hates it when internally, within the company, senior people across different units are poaching staff from each other's units. what the hell... so much for shared vision (see above) right?
(4) have had this weird sandpaper grinding sound coming out of my car wheel last couple of days. i decided to send in to the workshop and was told the brake pad had worn off. damned! and i thought i had only recently changed it. anyway, the mechanic replaced it and told me i need to leave my car for them to do a proper diagnostic cos there is also a knocking sound when i press on my front brakes. hmmm... gonna cost me again. sighs... i guess it is not unexpected given that it is a 7-year old car.
(5) feeling excited, yet stressed cos there is an impending potential business tender... and there's a lot of work to be done. gonna be super busy in the next 2 weeks...
:-)
