visited my mum earlier on. despite the discomfort and pain she felt at the operated areas, she was rather cheerful. and while i was there, the physiotherapist came and helped her do some simple leg/ knee exercises. and it was good to note that she was able to bend her knees and stand up.
simple steps, simple achievements, but a world of difference compared to what she was like just 2 days back. we were also given her old knee joint (the prosthetic), and while it looked perfectly fine to my untrained eye, i also noted there were scratches on one side of it. and for a metallic prosthetic to be scratched to this extent while it was still inside the body tells me my mum must have experienced one helluva pain before her op.
i am glad the op is over.
