was at raffles city last evening with bee and kwang for dinner at cedele (third floor). on the same floor was this huge wedding fair organized by some taiwanese company. and the way these taiwanese did the touting, it was terrible. and can you imagine, they touted me and kwang too. the whole thing went this way...
we walked out of cedele in the following order - bee, kwang and i. bee was 2 steps ahead of us. and when the sales persons saw us from afar, they immediately assumed we were a couple. and one of them walked up to us - oh, you want to came see our wedding collections? we have lots for you to chose. when he saw me ignoring him, he went to kwang and continued come, come, come take a look at our wedding dresses and package! you should be getting married right? bee, sensing that he has been ignored, quickened his steps and walked ahead.
frankly, it was rather irritating. i chose to ignore him, kwang just smiled and continue walking. and when he knew he was getting no where with us, he other colleague came forward and continued the touting come la! come la! come take a look. by which time, we were quite irritated. and so we played along. i responded oh, it's ok, thanks. and kwang went further no need, no need, actually i have given birth to 3 kids already, so wedding is out of our league already!
the guys stood there and stared at us. we walked on. smiling. and of cos, bee was way ahead standing by one corner laughing at us. hmmmm! what a harrassment! in retrospect, i should have acted in my most campy manner and asked if they have wedding gowns for me! i am sure it will freak them out!
