my funeral

talking abt funerals, i think i better state here in my blog how i want my own funeral to be. yes, to many, it may sound morbid. but i think it is only morbid if you allow yourself to see it as such. personally, i see it as being responsible (on my part) to make things clear so that my loved ones will know how to manage my affairs after i leave.

first and foremost, it will be a buddhist funeral. just a simple coffin, vegetarian offerings, nightly prayers. and of cos, i would like to be dressed in my buddhist robes. the wake will be a simple 3 or 5-day affair to be decided by my loved ones, whichever is more convenient. there will be no taoist frills, this means, no joss papers, no paper dolls, no paper houses, no white candles, not green joss sticks etc.

i also want a sea burial. that is to say, i want to be cremated and after that, my ashes is to be scattered at sea. yes, it will cost more, but there will be no need to maintain a columbarium niche and so on.

simple and straight forward.

:-)

ps: just looked through my blog's past entries and it seemed like i have blogged this before some 2 years back. very similar content. and yes, i also asked for the song tender by blur to be played during my funeral. well, ok, ok, if it sounds totally off for a funeral, then play it during my wake. heh heh...
