no national pledge

i see my friends and many people getting excited about reciting the national pledge this year at the co-ordinated time of 2022hrs. but for me, this year's national day will not be any different from my previous few ndps since 2005. also, i will not recite the national pledge. it's my own quiet way of protesting against the system. i am singaporean and i am gay. and as far as my government sees it, these two cannot co-exist.

and aptly enough, at 2022hrs this 9 aug, i will be in the midst of watching a gay-themed play.
