my boss had lunch with another director last week. and during that lunch, he found out that the business development-side was bidding for a competency mapping and development project. and so he volunteered me to be the project manager. so, amidst all my many many on-going projects and pressing deadlines, i suddenly find myself potentially leading a project that would consume almost 100% of my aug to oct! and the best part is this - i am totally not in the business of competency mapping and development. i am in training development. and the scope are worlds apart. i really don't know how to proceed from here although my boss kept telling people that i can do it.
we did a presentation this week and as the presentation went on, i was half hoping that we do not win the bid.
