went for my usual evening walk last night and on my way home, i saw this huge owl perched on the railing beside the canal behind my condo. it stood there quietly and when it saw me moving towards it, it got a little frightened and started to look towards its left and right. managed to grab this shot using my iphone and i must say - the resolution was terrible, given the dim condition and the distance i was at. but yeah, you can just see how huge it was. my guess was that it was at least 40-50cm tall. i stood there quietly observing it but it flew off very quietly when it saw me take a couple of steps closer.
what a sight!

ReplyDeletethere are few of them in the forest behind my home...always hang out in my garden at night, really hard to capture a photo of them...shy fellas...
but never seen a white one before..
owls are considered sacred, so must be a blessing for you :)
haha... let's hope so. then again, it depends on who you talk to with regards owls. my mum tells me it is not auspicious to see one. and westerners have labels owls as wisdom.
ReplyDeleteas for me, sighting of an owl is just luck. it is not common to see one and it is great to be able to see one.
